Publication Fees

Article Processing Charges (APC) Policy

Civil and Geoengineering Letters is committed to providing equitable and broad access to high-quality research. To support authors during the early development of the journal, no publication fees are charged for any articles submitted and accepted until 31 December 2026.

From January 2027, an APC will apply to accepted manuscripts as outlined below (exclusive of any applicable taxes):

  • Research Articles: €1050 (or equivalent in local currency)
  • Research / Technical Notes: €850 (or equivalent in local currency)
  • Short Communications: €250 (or equivalent in local currency)

The APC is payable by the corresponding author ONLY AFTER a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and has been formally accepted for publication. No submission or review fees are charged at any stage of the evaluation process.

Editorial decisions are made independently of any financial considerations. Editors and reviewers have no access to payment information, and APC payments have no influence on the peer-review process or acceptance decisions, which are based solely on scientific merit, methodological rigour, and ethical compliance.

The journal operates under a Gold Open Access publishing model to ensure immediate and unrestricted access to published content, supporting transparency, sustainability, and global dissemination of scholarly research.

APC Waivers and Discounts

The journal is committed to promoting inclusive and equitable participation in scholarly publishing. Requests for APC waivers or discounts may be considered on a case-by-case basis, particularly for authors from low- and lower-middle-income countries, in accordance with recognised international practices.

Refund Policy

APC payments are non-refundable once an article has been accepted and enters the production process. In exceptional circumstances, such as withdrawal initiated by the journal prior to publication, refund requests may be reviewed by the Editorial Office.
